Default How hard is it to install Long Tubes on a Fox

I have an 86 Gt with 93 engine and a 5-speed. I want to put some long tubes on her but am afraid it's going to be to much of a hassle. I don't have a lift either. Anyone with long tubes how much of a pain are they to bet on. Was looking at the BBK's. I was probably gonna go with the off road H-pipe too. I have a BBK catted X-pipe now and like it but its not loud enough, well compared to the off road H pipe I took off. Would an off road X be loader than one with cats? thanks

If loud is all you want put the off road pipe back on it.Long tubes in my opinion make the exhaust sound different but not louder. X and H pipes in my opinion sound different from each other but either pipe with out cats isn't going to be alot louder than the other.

it's a fair amount of wasted work because looking at your specs on car won't help you in the least with horsepower[&:]

Long tubes are pretty easy to put in when the 5-speed is out of the way.

gotta agree with the ol'man with this one....if you were doing heads cam power adder then yes do it....they aer not that hard, just pay attention and use an engine hoist...make sure you remove your map sensor, cause i busted mine for not paying attention of how high i raised my motor

It took about 3 hours maybe a little longer just to put them in. I put them in with the car on jack stands in the front and a jack holding the motor up. The driver side is easy, you just take the 2 bolts out for the steering shaft and send it up through the bottom. The passenger side requires a lot of manuvering and I had to get the header a good wack with a rubber dead blow hammer. With an off road h and 3 chamber flows my car is barely louder then stock. It just has a good rumble to it now especially when I get on it.

Will the long tubes sound better than the shorties? Would i be better off just buying new BBK equal lenghs and keep my brand new X-pipe. Does my Catted BBK X-pipe need to break in like a muffler does, I mean will it sound different after a while.
