i think those 1st gen. lightning motors only came with 245 hp. not much over the 5.0

You might want to invest into a book for a 351 swap.

I know that you need a different kind of harmonic balancer or something like the bellhousing for the 351 if you were to put it on a 302 tranny. "cant exactly remember what its called but its one of those wheel looking things." the heads will fit. however its recommended that you use aftermarket heads if your GT or cobra is in the 94/95 years. Since the 351 is a little wider you need a new Trick Flow 351 intake lower and upper manifold. or use the lower manifold from the one that the 351 came with. Also since the 351 has more deck height you need a cowl type hood of your choice as long as it clears the engine. And of course new motor mounts. If using 94/95 GT you need a new motor bracket for your A/C pwr steering etc. New front sump oil pan for a 351. Did i forget anything? heh. i had a link to it on the internet. for all that info. but i erased it but all i did was search 351 302 swap. HOWEVER IT CAN BE DONE!

alright whats the diff between the 94 lightning 5.8 and this other 5.8 i found from years 94-97 it says to use in and E,F, or U series ford and mercury, roller. I just want to make sure one of them will work, im haing trouble finding a 5.8 EFI, im lookin at those 2 motors in rebuilt condition. And what 92 LX said up there about the lightning only having 245 hp, but hey it also says 340 ft lb or torque stock put on some new heads and such, and it could be makin alot more power
