Default 5.8 H.O.?

Hey just curious ive been kind of intrested in the 5.8 H.O. from the 1995 Cobra "R" im wondering where you can get them if there are any...I have a brothers performance mag, it has a 351 5.8 rated at 385 HP but they want over 5 grand....hmm any other places or ideas...

get a 351w block and put a performer rpm heads/cam/intake kit on it and you will be rollin in 400 hp on the cheap

I've seen a 1986 Econoline have the 5.8 HO. 4BBl though!

you can also check out www.fordracing.com/performanceparts and see what they want for it too. there are lots of independent dealers who can sell it for less than the listed price too.

Something that needs to be mentioned is the 5.8 HO found in the Cobra R is a roller 351 block, and those are really hard to find. They also used them in the F-150 Lightnings. You don't have to use a roller 351, but they're nice.

according to the newest Ford Racing parts catalog, they sell a crate 5.8L/351 ci engine with a roller cam rated for 385 HP with 377 ft-lb torque at 4,500 rpm under part numbers M-6007-A351R w/serpentine water pump and M-6007-D351R w/v-belt water pump. engine comes with GT-40 aluminum heads and Victor Jr. Edelbrock carb manifold. price listed is $5,495 for either one.
they also show a 360 HP, 400 ft-lb torque rated 351 crate engine with roller cam p/n M-6007-C351R & M-6007-E351R for $5,495 also.
