Default Top Speed For 3.73s?

I have bolts ons on my notch and 3.73s. The other night i tried topping it out and the most i could get was 136mph. I think maybe a little more but still, it just seemed slugish past 110. Is this normal? My car runs great otherwise.

aerodynamics arent exactly in your favor. but I can bang 136 on my stock gears in 4th gear, so you must have been in 5th

in which case its not too unrealistic that you couldnt go much faster, seeing that its an overdrive gear and not really meant for accelerating

Same w/ me. Stock 93 GT w/ 3.90's. I used to hit upwards of 140 w/ my stock 2.72's.... I raced a buddy in his truck and all the sudden I hit like 110 and it just felt like it fell on its face w/ barely anything left in the motor! very dissapointing... but 0-80 was nice

The spedometer. I have 215/75/15s out back btw. That is a correct stock height tire. With my stock gears i felt like i could pull harder up top. Could the stock cam have something to do with this? Like the fact is makes **** past 4500?

Stock cam and 3.73 rear end is not exactly the best combo for top speed, the stock cam is simply not going to produce the power you need at the tip top end of the power curve.

Well remember when i posted a tire question a while back and you came back with a chart. I used that chart to determine its the stock height.

your gonna have to go find that chart, otherwise im calling BS on you. Stock tire size is 25.6"

many tires that fit this size criteria are:
225/60/15
235/60/15
275/50/15
225/55/16
245/50/16
245/45/17
275/40/17
315/35/17

So please, If you think I posted bad info somewhere.. let me know! Because i sure as hell would never recommend putting a truck tire on a mustang!
