Default Synthetic Oil in New Motor

I was am going to run Mobil 1 in my new motor and I read somewhere(cant find it now)that someone posted never run Synthetic on a new engine...

But the following vehicles come from the factory with it:

Mobil 1 Chosen as Factory Fill for all 2008 Cadillacs - Mobil 1 has been selected by Cadillac as the factory fill motor oil for its 2008 Cadillac Escalade and DTS models, making Mobil 1 standard equipment in every new 2008 Cadillac vehicle that rolls off of the production line. [/b]Welcome to the Family [/b]- The Acura RDX joins the roll call of performance vehicles filled with Mobil 1 at the factory. Read why Mobil 1 is perfect for the turbocharged RDX engine, and how it ranked against competitive motor oils when tested against Acura's tough new standard for motor oil. Mobil 1 is factory fill in:

They might come filled with mobil1, but the engines arent broken in with mobil1. Most engins that come from the factory are already broken in. If I were you, Id run regular oil for about a 1000 miles then switch to synthetic.

pzero is correct... if u run synthetic from the start the rings and cylinder walls won't wear together and create the proper seal, and u will have blow by and burn oil with in the first couple hundred miles

I was under the impression that new motors weren't broken until the coustomer got a hold of the car.

How are the rings seated in a new motor? engine dyno? chassis dyno?

Cars that come with syn from the factory may have been machined differently, in order to get the rings to seat. This is all under debate on ALL forums though. Even on the oil site 'bob is the oil guy'...

break in the rings with dino oil, then switch over.
