The reason I went with the 5-lug coversion since you asked!
I drive my car on the track (road course)6-7 times a year. I take my wheels on and off several more times a year than that because i auto cross also and I have an extra set of wheels for those events. HP is not the only thing that will break a stud on your car. Taking them on and off as many times as I do a year will weakin the studs, and have because I have replaced a few already. I would much rather have four studs holding my wheel on than three studs(if one brakes)when I am going 145mph on the track! JMO! Also when I bought my m-2300 brake kit from ford it was $1899! At that same time baer wanted like $2400 for the same brake kit in 4-lug! So it made more sense to me to go with that kit! Ford kit, better brakes, and cheaper price= very smart!

I like the looks of black bullitt wheels, as I'm going to do a red over black paint scehme on my '86. so sooner or later I'll be switching over to 5 lug. it is just a matter of prefrence. for some it is worth it, like in my case where the wheels I want are only offered in 5 lug... I know some may disagree with me, but like I said, it is all about your own personal prefrence.

I also have to add that AC/DC is awesome.

88 u dont see the point cuz the rims you want come in 4-lug. if they didnt u would definately see the point. i agree most people cant justify 5-lug because of the power they make, but a set of 03 cobras, prostars, or bullits make it worth the conversion.

AC/DC still rocks and has nothin to do wit a 5-lug conversion.

No, I said in my first post that if they do NOT make the wheels that you want in 4 lug that I do see the point of converting but if they make the wheel in 4 lug than I dont see the point. I do get that alot of people like the bullit wheels, etc. and they do not come in a 4 lug design because of the design of the wheel, thats understandable.

And they do make 03 Cobra wheels in 4 lug
