306 uses all stock internals but 347 requires an entirely different rotating assembly including flywheel balancer and not to mention the extra custom clearancing of the block for the longer stroke
a 331 uses a 3.250 crank, 5.400 rod and a piston with a comp height of 1.175 and 4.030 bore. A 347 uses a 3.400 crank, 5.400 rod and a piston with a comp height of 1.090. Either can be balanced to 50 oz to reuse stock flywheel and damper and the 331 needs no clearancing 99% of the time to the block, and the 347 needs nothing more than notching the cylinders at the bottom to clear the rod bolts, a whopping 50 dollars at a machine shop. Or free, done in your garage with a dremel like 95% of guys do. 33-347 rotating assemblies 700-850 dollars.
fordstroker sells kits, send him a PM about it FullAuto also has good deals, so you can try him too. Plenty of opportunites for good stuff on this site
well why would anyone bother with the 306 if ther gonna go thruo all that work ...theres gotta be a good reason not to do 306 vs 347....or are 306 owners just ....not smart?
Because it's cheaper. You can reuse the stock rods and crank.
mines a 306, it was when i bought it, but ive driven other 5.0s jus tlike mine that arent bored out and rebuilt and mine definately runs stronger i can tell a diffirence but not anything huge
Im doing a 306 vs a stroker for streetability, plus it's cheaper. Im preety sure the 331 and 347 strokers are also bored .30 over along with the extra stroke.
