Default lx taillights...

Hey guys. I was wondering, when replacing my GT tail lights, the ones with the "grille" over them, with the lx tail lights,do I need to buy the whole tail light assembly, or can I get by with just buying the lx lens? I didn't know if the assembly's were different. Thanks!

Im not even sure how to replace just the lens but you can. Anyway, I got mine from a junkyard also for cheap (the whole assembly). Just bolt em in and go! I had mine swapped out within the first 20 minutes of owning my car! Literally! lol

the lenses have little small metal clips that hold them in... at least they do on 85-86 tails. not too sure about 87-93.. but basicly you just seperate the lenses from the houseings while trying not to break anything. the ones on my 86 popped right off.. but the tails i got from an 85 were a pain in the A$$ to get off.

hmmmm never knew that. I might look into getting a new lens though because last time I was waxing the Stang I got real frustrated and puched my tailight and put a big crack in it [:@]
