ORIGINAL: frdmstng1986GT

sorry to hijack the post but how is the 357 running r.barn?

also, +1 onjust let them tune it.
In the shop now having longtube headers installed and the tune
tweaked a bit more, still running rich in lower rpms.

Running great other than that.

$80 sounds right if they're just doing an old skool tune [FP and timing]. A dyno tune and chip would definitely be more $$$. I've been planning to get mine tuned for a month now and haven't done it yet. It's $100 for 3 dyno runs, A/F, and tune at a place here.

Well orgininally i was looking into dyno tuning, then i was leaning more towards the megasquirt and doing it myself. The megasquirt idea is great and all, but i am no professional, i really want to learn how to tune it myself, but i really dont have anyone there with me, so i'd be starting from scratch, and i've put alot of time and money into this car to make it a grenade. I was talkin to a local guy here ( has a 700rwhp 87 ) and he highly recomended me to go to the local dyno shop. He is still using the stock computer and has 700 to the rear wheels, hsi car is 100% sick, sounds like a damn monster. He seems very knowledgable and has experience. He said aftermarket computers are good, but he has seen alot of guys grendade their motors doing a self tune. So he kindof made me lean more towards takin it up to the dyno up. I'll post up a link to their website, they seem very reputible. I called them today and asked a bunch of questions, they seem to be nice and easy to work with. They charge 550 for everything. One thing that i am hesitant about is getting it tuned after that, persay i do something else and i need a tune, then i have to go back and pay more, whereas with a megasquirt i could go back in and do it for free.

Whats your guys thoughts on my situation ? I plan to make a move within the next few weeks here. Thanks alot fellas, i appreciate it.

Self tuning is very dobable, but be prepared for a decent amount
of reading and learning. Trust me the guy up at the dyno tune isnt
some rocket scientist, if he can figure it out, you can.

you need to read up on how the system works
read every page on www.fordfuelinjection.com
and read this book
http://www.amazon.com/Ford-Injection...F8&s=books

once you understand that book, you can use any tuner from
PMS to Tweecer cause you will understand what the tuner is changing
in the EEC and how it should affect the computer/tune.

Personally i like Tweecer RT and plan on getting it soon
can even play Fast/Furious style with laptop on psngr seat ---- ROFL!

Hmm , okay guys, i have been absent way to long.....
If your wanting a basic timing bump/fuel pressure adjustment etc~ its only 60$ here.....

But, for a eec burn and edit its like 240$ an hour and takes 1-3 hours depending on the mods.

Tweecer & EA(Eec Analyzer) is the $hit.
It only requires at little brain work.
