Default Need help with ignition issues!!!

I recently bought a '91 5.0 convertible LX and it was fine for about 2 months. Then itbegan having starting problems. I would turn the key and it would just click. After I turned the key about a million times it started. I replaced the ignition soleniod and it started right upfor about 2 days then quit. Replaced it again thinking it was a faulty solenoid and it quit again. I let the car sit for about a week because I was getting the engine rebuilt, and now that it's been rebuilt, it'shaving the same problem again. I put a new battery in today and still no luck. The only thing I can think of are the grounds. Please help me out, I'm about fed up.

did you try replacing the coil? Your distributor could be bad as well.

Not yet, no. I figured it wasn't even making it to the starter so I didn't want to try replacing that stuff yet. I'll probably try that tonight.

Just replaced the starter a few months ago. It was actually an aftermarket upgrade so it wouldn't burn out.

It's finally fixed. I got fed up and just went all out. I replaced the battery, battery cables, ignition solenoid, coil, distributer cap, rotor, starter, and starter cables and now it's starts better than it ever has. Thanks for all your help. Now i just have to adjust the timeing because I think it's missing a little. Thanks again!

that was a lot of money you just spent. it was the starter i guarantee it. whenever it just goes click, its because the starter is bad. i thought this was common knowledge... nah just kidding. but now you know

You don't understand the frustration I was having, not to mention it was a good reason to convince the wife to let me get UPGRADES! The starter was just replaced about 3 months ago so I didn't even consider it at first. Thanks for your help though.

taking the starter off and having it tested would have been alot cheaper...you could have juped the starter, and that would have told ya the whole story
