new to 5.0's...have a question!
back story- Im selling my 6, and looking at a 94 GT vert. Its just going to be a cruiser, nothing radical or trying to be really fast. anyway, to get a little more power, i was thinking this-
1- Roush short throw
2- K&N CAI or drop in(site says the CAI gives 12 HP. with 6's, it gives more like 1...but is that true for 5.0's?)
3- BBK underdrive pullys
4-BBK unequal shorty headers
5-flowmaster force 2 catback & some tips...
what are all your opinions on this stuff? anyhting better or worse with it? overall, whats a realistic gain? on a sixxer, i know all that is worth maybe 15hp.
Im trying to keep it around 1000 tops, as this is just going to be my dd. but any input appreciated
oh, and i can only do bolt ons- all this is going to be done in my autoshop class

+1 Gears is definetly one of the best bang for the buck mods you can do. Gear ration depends on how much $$ you waant to dish out for gas. Auto or 5spd? highway driving alot? etc. Give us some details....

It seems like a decent low cost setup to get started. I would just swap the midpipe for an offroad one or at least one with high flow cats. Also, don't forget to bump your timing from the stock 10 degrees to about 16 or so degrees. That will give you some free HP.

Read the tech articles on bumping your timing.... start out at like 12* and than advance by 1 each time. Make sure you run your desired octane though before you do this. The higher octane you run the more timing you will be able to get out of it.

Its a 5 speed, and most of what i do is highway. I'm trying to stay with things i can easily install, and work my way up...
what would you all suggest for a midpipe? here in NY, theres no emmisions for 96 and older, so any exhaust system would work on it. Jst trying to stay as close to budget as possible.
