If you can spend $300 on an engine and another 600-ish for a port job, you had better be able to afford some used aluminum heads. Look at Trick Flow or AFR. Besides heat dissapation and reduced weight, they also have more potential. What are you going to do with a GT40 after Thumper has had his way with it and you want something more?

but i bet u ten dollars that the afr's will make more power and will make ur car faster than with ported gt40 heads. one thing i have learned recently is, u cant judge heads strictly on a flow bench test.

the gt40 upgrade is great if you're on a budget or got a good deal on them otherwise in the long run you could buy some really nice aftermarket heads for a couple hundred more bucks and be much more satisified in the end.
