Default Gears

I have been reading all the post about gears. I also have a 95 Gt wit AOD I read the polls and saw that every one said the 4:10s for and auto. I am 15 right now but when i am 16 i will be driving around town, and probably traveling on the highway at 70 mph for 30 miles each way once a week at the most. are these gears ok for me. My real question is where do i get these for the best value, but not low quality crap, and how long should they last me. Also, my gt is stock except exhaust is this ok for a first upgrade? Also i have kuhos 275 in back and it kinda makes me mad when i cant spin them on dry pavement unless i power brake, will the gears make me able to spin by just floorin it.? Sorry so long, Thanks in advance.

you should buy a line lock for your car, it lets you lock your front brakes only so you can burn your tires without toasting your brakes. but yeah with 4.10's you probably can roast them pretty easy. I have heard that 4.10's in a auto is they way to go, but if your worried about high rpm's you can go 3.73 which will still be pretty steep. 4.10 would rock though.

richmond is a good brand, ford is "ok"... but its just OEM...... you'll be roasting em up with 4.10's..... i got 3.73's in my t5, and its mostly stock and i can roast 3d gear for a couple hundred feet or so (rough guess)

for the driving you describe, I would get the 3.73's instead of 4.10's. They will definitely break the rear tires loose for you with no problems. and you don't need a line lock unless you plan on doing a lot of drag racing IMO. you can power brake and smoke em easy enough without one once you have the 3.73's.

Thanks for all of your input, i did think about a line lock but like i said i am 15 and my parents know if i get a line lock i am just gonna be doin burnouts all the time, so they wont let me get one. How much are the gears gonna cost me and what internet site do i get them off of? Thanks and what do u all think of my car?

So should i go with the 4:10s or 3:73, and how much do you think it will cost me to have them installed?

I have read about 50-50 on which to go. It is a tough decision. Does anyone have any in depth information on which would be better.
