which clutch has the softest pedal feel
I know been asking about this **** for a while but I am cahging my tranny and if i can make the pedal sofetr that would be great. I have a spec stage 2 now i had a King Cobra and a Stock and they have all been hard. i have driven several 5.0's and mine is by far the hardest, I've changed to adjustable cable and all that good stuff. just wondering the pedal feel and what clutch you guys are running. From what I hear the spec stage 2 is suppost to be softer than the King Cobra. does spec have different rated pressure plates. Will a new Kevlar clutch chatter? My spec stage 2 did.

A worn pressure plate can also make a given pedal feel hard to push.
I replaced my King Cobra with a regular heavy duty clutch from Bartlett's Brake and Clutch. I explained my situation, similar to yours.
He measured my old KC, it was 2400lbs, new one 2300lbs. That's only a 5% difference. It should feel the same at the pedal.
After installing it I was surprised the effort was about 40% lighter.
The tech said a worn plate changes the leverage on the diaphram fingers causing it to feel much harder.
This is not the first time I've seen this. New clutches usually feel lighter than new clutches, even when they are the same.

Mine gets harder than hell sometimes I take the cable out lube it up real good with WD-40 and put it back in(make sure it is not in a bind) it makes a BIG difference

try the white lythium grease in the spray can, it's a better lube and will last longer than wd-40... but when it needs to be lubed again spray it out realy well with brake clean b4 relubing it

I will definetlly lube it up with white litho then, I know it's something cause I've replaced everything. my clutch is new, i am only replacing it because it's been chattering real bad and i bought brand new Zspec T-5 and brand new spec flywheel and under 94Gt's advice I am gonna get another new clutch to be safe.
