upgrading to MAF
Well heres the thing, i have an 87 mustang lx, 306 manual with 3.73 gears
eagle forged assembly 10.5:1
ported stock heads
ported polished stock intake
E303 cam
msd pro billet dist & coil
i want to upgrade to the maf but i dont know what throttle body size and injectors i should use, i want to get the most power possible with this camshaft, also im going to be buying larger trick flow heads so im not worried about that.
buying, trick flow heads, bbk ssi intake.
want to buy bbk cold air, and bbk throttle body,
what do you suggest for MAF sensor mm? throttle body size, and injector size?
im not very good with figuring out what mm throttle body goes with what injector, just started messing with EFI
let me know
thank you

RE: upgrading to MAF
My BBK doesn't whistle at all and I bought mine used. I'm running a 70mm BBK throttle body and egr spacer, 75mm Pro-M MAF. Stick with the stock injectors for now. You could run 24's after you get your new heads on, but I've heard mixed opinions on that even.

RE: upgrading to MAF
I appreciate all the suggestions and im sure thats what i will do, now i just want to know why dont i want to use other sizes, that way i can understand more later down the road, lets say if i ran a 65mm TBand 19 lbs injectors, or75mm TB and 24lbs injectors. lets say i ran a 90mm MAF? just trying to get a feel for the mass air

RE: upgrading to MAF
also i was looking at sensors and they say calibrated for a certain LB, im assuming that means it will be a perfect mixture due to it already knowing the amount of gas being put in, so it will compensate for the amount of air?

i think it is all coming together now, if i get a maf sensor that is 75 mm, and setup for 24lbs, that means it is setup for a 75mm throttle body and 24lbs injectors, right?

It is best to use a MAF that is slightly larger than the TB. For example a 70mm MAF would work well with a 65mm TB.
If it were me...
I would stick with the 19's for now.
Find a 70mm MAF from a 94-95 Mustang
and use a 65mm TB, maybe a 70 if you want to avoid buying a second TB when you upgrade the heads.
This will yield good performance while saving cash for the important things... THE HEADS.
my opinion,

RE: upgrading to MAF
vristang, aren't the connections or something different on the 94-95 MAF's?
Isthe Cobra upperplenum opening large enough for a 70mm TB?
Why not go with a TF street heat or something that's got a little more flow than the Cobra?
