rust is a beotch
Whos dealing with rust on there fox?, what is the best way to get rid of surface rust and about how much does it cost to pay to have it done at a body shop maybe sandblasting ? any help from professionals or people with insight is greatly appretiated i also have a spot that is sorta rusted through were the fire wall meets the fender mounting location??? best solution for that? TY

well i am no expert but ive heard working ur way up from a low grit to a high grit sandpaper can get the surface smooth again if the rust isnt all the way through. if you got rust holes you may be looking at patching/welding or even just replacing depending how bad.
make sure ur car has no other rust (under the paint) otherwise u may be wasting ur time

yea but how do u determine that or should i just throw out some money to a body shop im lookin for the most practical aka affordable best way of restoring the body to a good condition without cutting corners?

your best bet would be to just strip the paint, fix up the body and primer it.. then paint it when the funds are there

i catch ur drift i can prolly save some money if i strip the car down and then bring it for prep and stuff i guess thats what ill do w/e gotta get the funds first.

Steel Brush Wheel works 2nd best when compared to blasting. You can get them cheap and put them in a drill. They will really knock off the rust. Rustoleum primer can help also. That is what I am doing. Except I wont be putting show quality paint on top of it.
