Default notched block for 331?

I woundering if i would have to notch my block to install a 331 stroker kit. I know a 347 has to but i heard because of the shorter stroke of a 331 that i wont need to. Any info would be appreciated

using a nut and bolt rod you should be fine, using a cap screw rod you ore than likely wont have the needed .060-.070 thou clearance between the rod bolt and cylinder. Just mock it up, put the crank in torqued down, put 1 rod on, no piston and rotate and use feeler gauges to make sure you have the above mentioned clearance

you need to notch the bottom of the bores when stroking a 289-302, the rod bolts will hit the bores.
