Twisted wedges can't touch AFR's power gains. I say AFR's out of those three choices.
silliest statement thus far in 2007
ha thats what you think they are probably the best heads you can get for your money read http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...ngine_buildup/
Theres the first problem, another magazine reader. When magazines dont rely on advertiser dollars then I will see them as semi-credible. My 15+ years of building these small blocks has taught me nothing, I know. I have used or have been a participant with virtually every aftermarket head made except a few. Do your own testing then let me know. CarCraft lol

Although the intake flow of the AFR 165s and TFS Twisted wedge are similar, AFRs own by far on the exhaust flow which is why they make more power on 5.0s.

The 75 horse gain in the Magazine is with the 185 heads on a 392 Ford Crate Motor..Call Ford Racing and they will tell you it is B.S.

When we race flow benches let me know. Flow one head in california, then flow the same head in florida, totally different numbers, useless

The Competition Ported AFR 165s exhaust outflows the Twisted Wedge...not the regular 165s that most people buy.

I agree 100%,..flow charts dont mean much...that is why I took some articles directly from the AFR site for whoever started this thread anyway.

thats not true, the normal 165s 9 times out of 10 make more power than the Twisted Wedge...

Keep the comments coming!!! I only have $1500.00 TOTAL for the heads & that will have to include the upgraded valve springs & shipping. Keith Craft has some AFR 165's for $1350.00 with the upgraded springs. What do you think???

Ahhh, the ongoing battle TW or AFR?? I have the twisted wedges and cant be more happy with them. I made 273RWHP on a mustang dyno with 8* timing, and all accersories(i know the ac wasnt on but still...) I think with more timing and a short belt on it, like it is now then i coulda hit 300RWHP.

Is it possible to make more than 325 RWHP with the AFR 165's & a custom cam on my daily driver???
