First place I would check is around the fuse box. Pull it out to see all of the wires behind it.

If nothing's changed the only other thing could be that you tire has worn through your fender and has started into the wiring harness which exposes bare wires and causes a short. I heard of this happening one time but it wasn't on a mustang.

The wiring to that is impossible to be touched by the tire.
