trust me, with thumper ported gt-40's and the port matched gt-40E intake and a trickflow stage 1 cam and all the bolt ons you will see 300hp at the wheels with a conservative tune. thumper gt-40's WILL out-flow out of the box afr 165's without loseing any velocity.

True. But still, think about the long run. It's like nitrous, a cheap source of power now, but in the long run you'll pay more

in the long run if your running ported gt40s with a complete HCI package you will see more power with nitrous or some sort of forced induction (supercharger/turbo) than having TF heads or some other aluminum head ported. shoot even if you spend 8-900 bucks having them CNC ported you could put than into a 100 shot and it would be more cost effective. but than again it all depends on your application.

if you already have the gt40s might as well keep em you can hit your mark with em but if you plan on going higher its time to look into a new block

My car makes 278rwhp with GT-40s and stock intake, E303 cam, bolt ons, and exhaust. That's un-tuned.

Im not calling you a liar, but some people dont see that much power with even the Trickflow top end kit. Do you have a dyno sheet? Those are some impressive numbers.
