stock clutch..would it last?
hey guys quick question. Im replacing a clutch in my 89 5.0 and was wondering how long a stock replacement clutch could possibly last? I can get one cheap through my school discount and i am strapped for money right now. My question is do you think it would last a summer if i broke it in proporly? My motor is stock on my car other than mild bolt ons, rear end has moser axles 4.10s and slicks, the car sees the track a few times a year (runs mid-high 13s) and when it does sees a couple limiter launches. so do you think a stock clutch could take a could or would it hooking hard with the 4.10s smoke it right away? Please give me your opinion and input. Thanks guys.

RE: stock clutch..would it last?
Before I upgraded to the Super T5 stuff from Astro Performance I ran a Auto Zone off the shelf stock replacement. I never ran slicks but I did run ET Streets. The biggest clutch killer with sticky tires is ridding it. Dump and feather the gas if you have to but don't ride it. You should be fine.

my opinion is get a Ford Racing clutch. Not that much. Check out summit or jegs. Or look at the King cobra clutch. I am not sure how well the stock will hold up. I am sure it is strong enough to get you through the summer as long as you know how to drive the stick.
