RE: 4 cyl conv./header clearance prob.
I doubt it's tweeked if the factory 4 banger was taken out and replaced with a factory 5.0...... And if it were tweeked, there would be noticable changes to the frame (welds broken, new welds, ect....) I mean, I thought maybe the engine got a little twisted when I dropped it back down in after loosening the motor mounts to twist the engine enough to get the drivers side header installed, but I went back over it and made sure that it was sitting in there nice and straight...... I even had a few other sets of eyes on it and they agreed that it was in the right place, but still somehow rubbing the steering arm.

No, I don't think it was in an accident. There's nothing on the carfax report. I know that doesn't always mean a whole lot mainly because there's a little bit of a "wedge" style gap between the front drivers side fender. So I guess there's a chance that something happened once upon a time. But I still don't think that straightening the driveshaft any will fix my steering arm problem..... Unless I'm not catching the point....

get a flaming river steering shaft. very low profile and slim. will fix your shaft hittng the headers. last thing you want to do is go into a corner and the wheel hangs on you. I had to do it with mine. I put hooker longtubes on and the old shaft would hit. you could try to trim the ears off the shaft but the flaming river peice is nice. $160 bucks i think.
By the way. my car is a 4cyl conversion.
