Default Car runs better when cold? Or am I just crazy?

It's almostlike mycar seems a little more torquey when ithas not yet reached it's properrunning temperature(I can't remember if it is calledclosed loop or open loop when the engine is still cold). It doesn't seem like a huge power cut, but idk. Is this normal? What would cause it? I am throwing no codes or anything, lemme know if you guys want a full mods list. Maybe I'm just going crazy.

Its a closed loop and yes the car does run better in the cold. The cold air is denser so a MAP will allow the same volume of air, but it will be much denser creating a "rich" burn. Its all good!

I didn't mean the air temperature outside, if that's what you were saying. It's running better when the motor itself is cold, unless that's what you meant lol.

I feel the same way about my car sometimes. Can't you unhook the mass air meter andmanual put it into closed loop by doing that? Anyone got an answer for that?

Open Loop is when the O2's are not being used for feedback

Closed Loop is when the O2's are being used for feedback

I had a old 1989 caprice 305 throttle body a old boat lol. My lil brother at the time had a 1992 240sx stock was a daily drive not some ricer kid thing. But everytiome we raced ilost by a long shot. One moring leaveing got work we come side by side at a light. Engine was still cold ony 2 blocks from the house. I tell you what i left his lil 4 banger a** lol. We stoped at the next light he said wtf happened he gave all the car could do and i had never one befor. But soon as it warmed up sluged again and lost. Ever since then i have noticed a big difference between a hot motor and a cold motor preformance wise. Not my 01, f150 5.4l hates running cold feels like a dog but when it warms up it screams the 300 hp lol ( still slow 6500 lbs truck) So all in all i guess it gepends on the car some are cold blooded some are warm.

Not really a good thing to do...

The computer reverts to assumed MAF values in this instance.
Assumptions about the Air and Fuel metering can be devastating.

a cloder engine will run better, but your risking F***ing up the motor if it is not properly warmed up.

It's no secret...colder motors with colder intake temps make more power. I'm troubled as to how you know what kind of power your car has when it's cold, as you shouldn't give it any real throttle until the oil is completely hot...about 10 minutes of driving.
