Well after replacing my starter, and flywheel (because it used to grind really bad and i would go through starters every 3 months) i got it all back together last night with new stuff and it STILL sounds nasty when it turns over...anyone have any ideas what to do next? Ive run out of ideas. i thought forsure a new flywheel would take car of it, but it still is really loud when it turns over. it didnt seem so much like it was grinding like it used to, but just that is was really loud. i have the bellhousing all bolted up without the trans in, so could that be why it sounds so loud? would it make a big difference once the trannys back in? Anyone please help!

get a shim kit man, or use some washers.

Try using a washer....Do you have a starter index plate?
