In my opinion, the B cam sounds far better than the E cam. It gives a great thump to the idle, especially if you are running an offroad pipe.

Does anybody else agree with ohsoquik02?
most definitely yes! you will most likely hit the pistons with the valves with that cam and 1.7 rockers without a doubt.

Not to highjack or anything but, how do you figure different lifts with different rockers? I have 1.7 rockers on my car and most of the cams I look at are tagged for 1.6 rockers. So if lift is .480 w/1.6 Rockers, how would I figure out what is is with 1.7 rockers? Also, anyone know max lift for standard GT-40 heads?
it`s pretty easy. lets you have a cam with .480 lift using 1.6 rockers, just take .480 divided by 1.6, the stock ratio, and then multiply it buy what ever ratio you plan to use. .480 using 1.7 would be .510. once you do it it will make sense if your confused.

what cam has a rougher idle? e? or b? are they both smog legal? would one have a better chance of passing smog than another? i live in nor cal if its a difference in smog , also wich would provide more power?

B cam has 224 duration 480 lift E cam is 220 duration 498 lift. e cam is better idle and better for emissions. B cam gives you just a tad bit more power but not as much lift. these two cams are very close in performance. a b cam car needs a nice stall when backed to a auto. E cam car doesnt need a stall but it wouldnt hurt

stay away from those abc. cams dude, your stock springs will coil bind with anything over .500 lift and if you go with an e cam you will tag your valves, just so slightly...trust me on this cause it happened to me.
