Default rebuilding my motor

I am wanting to do a cheap rebuild on my 5.0, but I would like it slightly cammed. All the advertisers say that installing a larger cam might not be compatible with my computer. What is the deal with this? Is there a way to mess with the computer to make it compatible, and if so,how much does this cost?
Thanks

What year? If it's pre 89 or its an 88 from cali then you don't have mass air. Which is probably why they say the cam won't be compatible. That's why most people convert over to mass air, its more mod friendly.

I just put my rebuild in i bought it from a local shop for 1400.00 and before i put it in i ordered a trickflow stage 1 came from summit. it sounds awsome and its very computer friendly. but if you wanna go bigger then that your going to have to upgrade valve train springs etc.

ORIGINAL: 92hatchLX

Damn, that's not even an HO motor.
Which means that a HO cam, such as the Stage 1, will not work. Different firing order
