heres the problem next wesnday im doing some street drag racing with a 5.0 cause my friends dont wanna race so he asked me yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ive never race with a mustang i dont know the car so im looking for some tip on the best way to start and to drive a 5.0 in a race.............they are 1/8 of a mile race theyres a lot of people at this place so i dont wanna look stupid so im looking for tip.................thks guys<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>

stomp the gas and dump the clutch! that always looks good. no i would take the car outon a back road somewhere and practice taking off. if you are going to run street tire try taking off with out spinning. just roll off of ther line easy and then nail it. try different launching rpm's. if you running with slick try the same thing but look for the rpm that doesnt bog the car down.</P>

I'll agree with 84stang, get your rpms up and let the clutch out. On street tires it'll be hard not to get some spinnig, but try to keep it to a minimum. Its better to spin a little than to bog way down.
