i hooked up the pump to the battery and it works completly fine. i just took the same switch off my gt and i can tell its bad. the button to it just does whatever. i will look for a new "inertia switch and see if that makes it work. i will post up a picture of the one i took of my gt you can see a difference. also the white button on top just does whatever unlike the one off my lx.

ok i looked in my chilt and it said this about the inertia switch.
in the event of a collison , the electrial contacts in the inertia switch open and the feul pump automatically shuts off. The feul pumpwill shut off even if the engine stop does not stop running. the engine, however, will stop a few seconds after the fuel pump stops. It is not possible to restart the engine untill the inertia switch is manually reset. To reset depress the button on top of the switch.

if anyone has a chilton manual its on page 5-33
i hope this helps

you can bypass them with a shor peice of wire in order to test your fule system, but you wouldn't be safe in a collision. so i wouldn't drive around too much with it bypassed.

yup, exactly.. You can simply run a jumper wire across the end of the plug that goes into the intertia switch, in essence, completeing the circuit.
