Default AFR heads??

hey everyone. I have a 1995 mustang GT and i dont have a lot done to it. Iran into a guy with a set of AFR 165cc heads and he wants 600 for the two. But the only thing is that on one of the heads there is some damage. They were on a car that threw a rod and the piston flew up and nailed the head. Anyway he said that it would be about 100 dollars to fix it. If thats all they cost to fix is it worth it? Im not sure that i would want to do a head swap my self, does anyone know about what it would cost if i paided a shop to do it?

too much. you should give me the guys number, I'll call him up and yell at him for trying to sell you piece of crap heads

no seriously, how bad is the damage? a shop will charge anywhere from 500 to 1000 (depending on where you go) for that swap. If you know how to do it yourself, go ahead and repair the damage and install them

+1111 Don't waste your money on parts that are used, or were even in a car that the rod hit.

I seriously doubt it's only $100 in damage. He's probably telling you that to sell the heads. If it were truely only $100 in damage, he'd fix them and sell them for more. It's probably closer to $300+ in damage.

Stay away from em. It's like buying a car that's been totaled before...sure you can fix what you can see, but it's what you can't that gets you
