Yeah, since the oil pan rides over the k-member. You have to raise youre engine. Watch the upper intake and the firewall, because it might hit. Remove engine mounts, and raise. Then remove youre oil pan ( might not be easy as said. ) Then remove the little tube you see and the pumps attached.

ya i have done it twice now on my five o and make sure to check the rod to the destributer, and check the screen on the inlet once you get to the pump. The bad thing with the 5.0 version is that when you get the pan off (not fully off but sitting on the K member) You have to reach in and then take off the bolts to the oil pump and you have to take it out or drop it in the pan. When the pump goes the rod to the destributer usually gets nice and braided and then breaks. So take off the destributer and look down the rod hole. If there is not a full rod there then you have to get a new rod. Screen is usually good but check it just for insurance. Good luck and at this time it is good to check how your engine mounts look. If you have any other Questions dont be affraid to ask.

Very easy drop the oil pan, remove the oil pick up tube, (two bolts) Remove the oil pump mounting bolts. lower the pump assy down in the oil pan and move them both out together.
prime the new oil pump with freash oil, turn the pump shaft by hand, you will need a new oil pan gasket, and gasket for pickup line, fit the oil pump driveshaft into pump. it must seat all the way. DO NOt force it. re-assemble the oil pan
