Default RE: shift kit or valve body?

Most shift kits will raise the RPM, by how much, isnt really predictable. I've heard B&M was worse about unpredictability. Ask your tranny guy if he knows about the AOD-4R70W swap. The gears all fit in your AOD case, and require no mods, and the gear ratios (all except thrid, which is 1 to 1 in both) get a lil bit lower, so you get a lot faster acceleration. A manual valve body is a waste of time, why would you want to shift an auto? the whole point is that an auto is perfectly consistent and can shfit faster than you in the first place. just get a shift kit, and look into that swap

i run a full manual valve body with trans brake on my car. i love it. i thought it would be a pain to shift all the time but its no big deal. and the shifts are unbelievable. hits each gear really hard and really fast even when im just crusing. cant wait to see what its like at wot but my isnt tuned yet so i cant.[:@] when i shift gears at 2500rpms and 15% throttle (so says my pms) the tranny shifts harder then it did at wot with a shift kit.

All that the valve bodies (that aren't full manual) are, are preinstalled shift kits in a stock valve body and they're about $140-$240more than a shift kit.
yes, but with the added piece of mind in knowing everything is properly installed

rather than take a chance of a small piece of grit being left over from my tranny disintigrating and making something stick it was worth it for the piece of mind to just get a assembled unit. plus even a good builder screws up once in a while and with the different springs and check ***** in that maze of passageways it would be easier for them to screw up there than any other part of the tranny.

not to mention i can still shift whenever i want by dropping into one and two

It is with the Baumann kit, you can adjust it to whatever you want.

ive never seen one of those installed, but from what i read, you still have to tinker with it and adjust it until you get it how you like it. but yeah, they are a lot more predictable than just installing a normal shift kit.
