Do it. For one, cams and lifters wear together and should always be replaced together. Secondly, it's worth the money just as insurance against future problems. You'll already have the block torn apart, better to not have to do it again. FRPP OEM lifters are fine, they're only about $100 on Summit

hydrolic roller cams and lifters dont really wear unless something happens to them such as getting dirt in one orthe liftersome how spins in the hole. you dont have to replace the lifters. check each one and besure there is no wear makes. if there isnt any, you can re use them. i reused my lifters when i did a head swap on my old motor. then when that motor blew, i built my current motor with the same lifters. they work fine

Is there any way that i can clean the lifters to make them like new? That might be a stupid question, I am really doin this HCI swap just to learn more about the car, not so much for the hp and torque, altho that is a nice little bonus

I'd get new ones just to be on the safe side, but if your budget is tight, then inspect them REALLy good. 1 reason i replaced mine is just for peace of mind, so i know thats 1 less problem i have to worry about in the future.

I just bought some to play it safe. $6.25 each from Summit.

Ive reused lifters before. Roller lifters are different than flat tappet, Id just reuse them IMO.

not to sound stupid but im doin a h/c/i rite now.. are the lifters actually loated in the heads themselves. I was think they were but i could be wrong so i was double checking. If so i dont have to worry about knowing how to put them in. The heads are being assembled for me

No lifters are not in the head, They are under the intake. You will have to remove them for the cam replacement.

Part of the reason for roller lifters is so you don't have to replace them.
