Default fuel pump

ok say i check my fuel pressure and it is low what does that tell me? and i will also check the wiring to the fuel pump. but when i turn it on it makes no errrrr sound so it has to be a wiring problem or the pump has just give out right.

I would check and see if you are gettin the volatge back to the pump when you first turn the key on. That would tell if your pump is getting it or not. If it is getting it and the pump doesn't do anything, then thats a good sign that its shot. The low fuel pressure could be just the pressure remaining in the fuel lines. Cranking pressure and running pressure will tell if the pump is sufficiently doing its job or not.

check the fuel lines also my friend had one get crimped by something and it cut his fuel pressure down a bunch. the car would run good to about 4000rpm then it would just stay there like it did not have any more fuel to go faster. he thought it was the fuel pump as did i so we replace it. still the same thing. the we looked further and found the bad line.</P>

If the return line gets crimped the fuel pressure will go way up. I mean WAY up.
