i have my car tore down and i need some cheap heads that will perform decent and i talked to my performance shop and he told me that he could port my e7's and put gt 40 valves in and out perform gt40 heads and wants to charge 500.00 is this worth doing or is he just telling me this, i need to know quick cause i have to call him back tomarrow.

That's what thumper heads guarentee and they are about the same price. If he knows what he is doing E7s can outperform GT40s.

I ported my E7's [probably not to that extent, though] and they perform a lot better than stock. If I was to do it all over agian, I'd start w/ GT40's or P's and get them ported.....then you're good to go.

agreed... srtart with gt40s or gt40p's and them get them ported and gasket matched

if ur gonig to have them worked over make they do it correctly.

have them put in a 1.94 or 1.85 intake valve and a 1.6 exhaust valve to help see bigger gains

it would take ALOT to get those heads flowing better than the 40's, on the intake its just hogging the crap outta them but the short turn radius on the exhaust is redesigned on the GT-40's and your at a natural disadvantage with the E7's.

for 500 bucks, you should be able to find a pair of 40's or maybe even 40P's and not have to mess with them..... and know that each cylinder is flowing equally.

yup, with new valves and springs, machined and ready to bolt on with a buy now of less than 500.00 and could be got even cheaper if you just bid on em.......

or, a little over 500.00 and you can get BRAND NEW GT-40P's from clearwater cylinder heads..... i have dealt with these guys they are good.

I already have new intake and cam so i need the stronger but not a drag car, i'm looking for around 300rwhp. plus the only gt40's i can find are the p's with the headers for 500 and my engine is tore down waiting me to decide.

If you look around you can find the headers for less than 500, I got mine for 140 if you are not in a hurry
