this is really a serious race oriented head and you need a bigger cam, etc. to take advantage of the flow potential of the heads. also the valve sizes require much bigger valve reliefs cut into the pistons too, so unless you plan on doing lots of work, I wouldn't go with these heads on a street engine.

it says that you can use up to a .550 lift cam and not cut the pistons...anything bigger than yes the pistons must be cut...

I would still check the piston to valve clearances before I ran the motor and remember you need to keep about .125" clearance on a street motor. rods do stretch under load you know!

those valves are way to large for mustang. remember a chevy likes large valves like that a smaller 302 based motor doesnt

wtf...you mustangs guy have to be stupid or just have no idea on head flow...i guess that is why chevys kick fords butt in most every case...head flow is the key to power..not some small *** port with 1.84 valves...be a man..turn the 302 to 6500-7500 with this head..make some power...

if chevy is so much better why you over here??? umm thought so. why go to 6500 when our comp wont let us there is no need to run those size valves on a 302 now if we had say 408 or greater then yes but not these little motors. also power isnt everything when racing. its not that hard to eat up a GM with the right knowledge

yeah, they might of been that size back in the late 60's and early 70's....... theres a reason they dont come stock that big now days... , to much is not a good thing, but you seem to have your mind set on those heads, so you should just buy them, put them on your car, and not be happy, and have a ****ty running 302!!

mmm exacly where i have said that i wanted to buy them...alothough i do plan on it...i just think it is a good head...it is a small block head...and so times a motor need to be turned a little bit harder.a 302 will handle 6500-700 all day .in stock trim in my opion..those heads have almost the highest flow number .500-.600 lift than any other head...so what if it has to be turned 6800...do it..
