higher nickle content = stronger cast iron.

dont know if they made them in a one piece/roller lifter block though

you must have never seen a mexican 302 next to a later 302 block (i.e 80s-90s). there is a lot more metal in teh mexican block. ford cut out lots of metal to save money as the years went by. also put less nickle in it. tell the guys pushing 800-900hp through a mexican block that they arent better

They are supposed to be stronger and come with your choice of meat, beans, cheese, guacamole and sour cream served on a hand made flour tortilla.

yeah dude its a proven fact the nickel content is higher. why in the hell did they send all the good blocks to a third world country and send the good cleveland heads to austrailia? goddamn you ford!!!!

I had a 68 302 motor (not sure if it was a mexican) and putting it side by side with a 86 302 roller motor the main caps were maybe an 1/8th of an inch thicker. I did a little research and found the the older motors tend to crack at the main webbings instead of cracking the whole block like later 302s. Both seem to be limited to 500hp though.
