Default electrical question

when i was installing my chip, i noticed that two wires and been spliced into by two other ground wires. what could be the reasoning for this? all i know is that when i undone them i black somked idling. appreciate anyones opinion, and suggestion on if i need to replace the computer maybe or somethin

I would need to see pics of where these wires are. Im pretty familiar with the EEC wiring harness in our cars!

my chip was burnt from jms chip corporation. my mods are as follows:
bbk cai
march pulleys
tfs cam 499/510
custom x pipe
mac pro dumps
msd ignition
3.55 gear
hays clutch
pro 5.0 shifter
and chip
