Default Somethings not right.

As some of you may know I just bought my '88 GT. The only problem is, this car doesn't seem to have any *****. It has an e303 cam,BBK throttle body CAI, and underdrive pulleys. I don't understand, all my '93 had was a cold air intake and it ran much better, had a quite a bit more get up and go.

Does this have anything to do with the new cam and still having speed density?

Also I had to replace the TPS, I replaced it with a stock one, are their TPS's made for BBK throttle body's that I was supposed to get or should this one work just fine?

i would venture to guess that its the cam with completely stock heads and speed density. my buddy had a trick flow 1 cam in his stock 86 stang and it was slower than mine is wit just ud pullies and 373's. and his was a notch. but i would say that its the cam. those heads stock dont flow well at all, port them or get some gt40's or something else and than the car will have a lot of *****.

So what would your recommend to do first? Convert to MAF or save up for some heads?

i would do which ever would be easiest for u. if u got the means to go and get a maf comp and harness and all thats needed go do that. but head work would help. there have been many cases where the e cam is good on sd setups so a maf might not be required but it wouldnt hurt. head work will give it a lot more power. maf would make it run better. jmo though.

sry ih8chevy but ima dissagree w. ya... the e303 cam is NOT sd friendly.

thats your problem.... sd and that cam do not mix at all, so either convert to maf or get a sd compatable cam(yes there are cams u can use that are good)

any other sd questions, let me know.

I think I'll have to switch over to mass air then. I've heard it's not too easy.

lol I think this is why the owner sold the car. He thought it was all because of the TPS, when I changed that it ran a little better but it still bogs down a bit.
