Going in a fox? Well if it is where are you going to get fe motor mounts, headers, and oil pan for a fox? 460's a heavy motor but parts for it are readily available for a fox.

get the 460, and score a crank from a 429.... short stroke big blocks are wickedly fun to play around with!

if it was me i would probably get the 390 cause it is tofether and with machine shop costs and parts and such for the 460 it will be much more expensive.just my .02 cents.

I would get the 390. The 460 is definitly going to add up in the long run. What does the bronco have now? 300?

Even though I have a mild 390 in my '59 ranchero, I'd go with the 460 type engine.
It's probably lighter......
More parts are easy to get.........
I think some came in some of those Broncos in the late 70's..........
It may cost a little more to start with but it may well end up cheaper than some 390 with a $29.95 'cam' in it and a $40 swap meet intake on top........

well the wife said go for the 460...she want's me to do the 460 like i did my 302 for my mustang[sm=happybounce.gif]...

the bronco never got the 460..just the 302/351m/400/351w...and the straight six....

the tranny is a big block set up so the only thing i need is a flywheel and the powersteering pump..

so what intake should i go for?and i know aftermarket heads are expensive as hell
