I have never talked to anyone at FTI but I have talked to Jay before and he is light years ahead of my in knowledge... he REALLY knows what he is talking about. Im not going to say anything about FTI because I have never talked to anyone with experience with them or know anyone but I can tell you that I have talked to hundreds of people w/ custom grinds from Jay with 100% positive feedback.

ive seen at least the modular guys have had some problems w/ the quality of some comp cams. just go w/ jay. make sure you wait on things like springs, because he will tell you exactly what you need.

I hope you're not comparing some tech line joker to Jay Allen or Ed Curtis. Unless this post was a joke, you have no idea what you're talking about.

I've bought 5 custom camshafts. I spoken with several cam grinders and several "claimed" cam grinders. Over the years, I've learned more than a few hard lessons and camshafts was a BIG lesson. If it were my money, I'd order from Jay Allen. He is the real deal.

order the heads and cam together from CI and save money

stock springs on AFR's are useless with a custom cam.

well anyone claiming to know everything obviously knows nothing, but im no noobie when it comes to engines. as a machinist, along with doing valve jobs i occasionally ran the cam grinder too. i have never personally dealt with the tech guys from crane or comp (we knew what we wanted when/if we called) but i figured they would have a decent handle on what works with what..... thats all
