I lost <IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0">. Haha not bad though. I kicked his *** in 1st ,in 2nd he was beside me , but he was gone after that. He had about 3 car lengths on me. It wasn't on a track but on a strip of raod that comes out to almost exactly 1/4 mile. Iraced him in "Drive" so the shifts were alittle conservative though. I still have the 7.5 rear in it so I was afraid I'de rip it out. if I have shifted it manually I would have had him even better than i did in first and had him ok in second , I couldn't have done anything about it after that. he had me good in 3rd. All i know is that it was fun haha! he was talking a bunch of crap about killing me off the line but it turned out otherwise to my suprise. He still beat me, butIf he was a better driver he'd have done better . I wish i had a couple g's right now so i could get my AFR 165's and some new pistons and a cam. I'de have eaten him alive. If I had started out with an H.O. instead of the crappy cougar 5.0 I'de have probably had him too. That would have been really close though. Anyways just thought I'de let everyone know what happened. i wish i had better news about our little friendly race but atleast I'm telling the truth and not being like "Yeah i kicked his ***" or something. Just wait till I get my heads in a couple of months and I'll have better news heheh !<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">I ain't bullcrappin either , I've got $400 saved so far and I get my bonus on the 15th . after that i only need 3-4 paychecks and I'm in buisness . By then we will have put the 8.8 rear end in it and I'll have my car completely done other than paint.</P>

well not bad I'm sure the car still has a few bugs to iron out.. if you put in a shift kit and shift at 5300 with some drag radials you would have been neck & neck 3 cars is easy
pick up. get yourself some pulleys just out my list for cheap mods

I think if I had shifted it manually I think it would have been way closer. I have a shift kit in the C4 and it almost breaks my neck when it shifts at higher rpms haha. I like it though. We are going to go at it again this coming week and I'll let everyone know what happens .

I would have thought it would have been the other way around - those things are insane off the launch (if you've got the ***** and the skill). But I guess with similar power levels and his 3.90:1 ring and pinion...

Well Horatio , you are exactly correct about the WRX off the line. We played around again last night and we did it from a dead stop. he revved it WAY up there and launched it .I don't dont want to get into the details about how bad it was , but he freaking killed me off the line this time. Granted, we had nobody to flag us or anything and he just said "1 ,2 ,3 , Go" so he got a little jump on me . He would have got me bad anyways though cause I had no traction at all this time . I don't plan on doing it again for a long time.Atleast until i can get the other rear endand suspension in it.For now it's justnot worth it haha. I did make some guy in a really riced out Civic Ex today look like a fool though. So I felt alittle better . I think I'll stick to picking on riceor atleastcars that don't have AWD for now hahaha. Sucks to be broke and not have the money to finish you car off . I love the 5.0 way mor than the 4 cylinder , but i just wish i had the money to give it some good power. Right now I'm just another redneck with a mustang around here hehehe.
