im 24 ( still paying back credit cards and loans for my car from when I was 20). I have had this car for 8 years.. I would say just get it up and running so you can drive it. even if it is a junk yard block who cares!!

to be honest you could start over and do far better.. realy those heads are not that great the exhaust ports are pathetic and the chamber is way to small the crank and rods are reusable but a 20 under crank is borderline in a street build let alone performance... if it were me i would get another 302 block either stock or 30 over a 347 strocker kit and a set of either early 351w or used gt40 heads and use your intake oil pan and other stuff over again.. if you thought that motor you had before was fast.. hold on!

im pretty far into this..
maf conversion
3.73 gears
190lph bbk fuel pump
hedman headers
trickflow
and all the other bs
thats over $1000 right there
i just really hate to dump too much more money into this thing
but there is really no easy way out is there?
if i do get another block.. will my crank and everything just swap right in?

If it were me I would just find a used block thathad not been bored at all and have it machinedor one that was freshlybored.030 and is ready for some pistons. It may take alittle time but thier out there. Then all you would need to do is buy some new .030 oversized pistons and rings, have the pistonsmounted onyour rods, andtake everything from the old engine and transfer it all to the new block. That would probably be your cheapest and safest route.

Who ever decided to overbore that block .060 should be somewhat accountable...I'd do as stated above...find a new block, carry over the internals and sell the heads for some GT40 irons or alum head.
