RE: what am i supposed to be running?
Yeah, stock you're going to run anywhere from high 14's to low 15's IF and only IF you are at sea level. In my case at 5800 ft. elevation (D/Awas MUCHhigher), 92 degrees, with gears and headers and o/r h-pipe, I ran a 15.5 @ 91 mph. I hatedrag racing in the moutnains.

RE: what am i supposed to be running?
the main problem i have when starting a race is that it peels out too much, peels out on the start, and then peels out when i kick it into first gear again.....1-D-( 1 )-D....if i do it straight 1-D-O/D , it takes the car sometime so that it can get to a high rpm...so the best way to race it is the way i do it;.... besides better tires, and getting slicks, how can i stop my car from peeling out so that i can have traction and a good start, would i have to stall and then take off or just take off, or what????any reply is appreciated...oh, i have another question, if i run an engineband that goes throughthe whole system such as alternator, air compressor, waterpump, and the other deal, will it take up horse power than just running an engine band that goes through the water pump and engine deal without alternator and air compressor, i have a brand new battery soI dont think that i would need to run it with the alternator, right???

how do i get better traction, besides getting better tires or slicks? i have aircon, heater, air con compressor, powersteering, andwater pump, you know the whole dealwith no eliminations....will iloose hp by keeping it the way that it is or can i run afaster time at thetrackby getting a smaller serpentine belt and just usethe water pump, crankshaft, and alternator...
