ghetto fuel connection
ok guys, I posted a few days ago about a clip being damaged when I replaced my fuel pump, and it wont reinstall correctly. No one has or can get the clips I need because they are discontinued (even Ford). 50resto.com has the whole fuel line which would be fine, but they cost $150 and right now I can't afford that but I NEED to the car running. The connection at the fuel pump is where Im having issues with the one line.
If this is just a bad idea, please tell me so I dont blow myself up. Im thinking about just buying a piece of high pressure fuel rubber tubing, and using about 6 clamps to hold it on there to create a make shift connection. Is this going to be safe for a few weeks or is that just a dumb idea??? please let me know ASAP. |
RE: ghetto fuel connection
Hope you have fire coverage on your insurance policy...and a nice extingusher. I would never, never, never rig a fuel line..spend the money or wait.
