I heard before that the AFR 165s put out better numbers than the Canfield 170s, but when you get to the larger heads the Canfields are better... but they are also more expensive.

The AFR will use a longer port and still come up short in volume so the Canfield will hold a notable edge in cross section. This combined with the fact the small Canfield is an 18* head will give it a good advantage compared to the AFR 165. In two optimal combos, the Canfield should win this comparision. I think some people just don't understand how to use the advantages in design.
