Default Foxbody 4.6 or 6.0?

heyy, im new here to the board, but i have a question. i used to have a buddie whos dad put a, i wanna say a 2001 cobra engine in his 89GT foxbody? and had it boosted. if i were to get an 89 i kno i'd need a new computer/wiring harness, if iwanted to do the cobra enginething. but would it be easier/cheaper to go about by jus putting somethin lke the 6.0L engine *dont kno if ne of you read that article in carcraft*( they spent somethin lke 3,700?, it included the motor from lkqcorp.com ,a cam, intake, 750cfm carb, headers, and i think taht was about it. they made 483 hp. with the stock heads on it. ) in it instead. and since the 89 would alreaady have a 8 in it. i wouldnt have to change much as far as motor mounts correct? thanks for yr. time

351W-5.8L drops right in pretty easy
good luck getting 483hp off stock heads, need to take those artcles with a grain of salt

4.6 mod motors will go in with a LOT of work
www.modularfox.com for more info.

Do the 351W swap, mine is a 5.8L, if you stroked it to a 408W
it would be more like a 6.5L and make 500+hp with good heads and cam.

+1 Putting mod motors in foxbodies are awsome and everything but require alot of work. Dont think it will just drop right in like a 5.8L

thats a waste of money man....stick to the with the 5.0 or 5.8 preferably the 351w you'll make plenty of power with a 351w on a budget and if you have a big budget than you will make way more than enough. Those modular engine start off with good hp # but are damn expensive to pull out only a few more, in other words they dont benifit as much from bolt ons like our pushrod engines.

Unless you get an 03-04 Cobra motor. But if you want to go that route your talking major $$$$ for a swap like that.

+1, expensive as hell...but freking sweet if you ask me. terminator motor, kenne bell with smaller pulley, stand alone engine management with a dyno tune and all the supporting mods. you will have well over 500+rwhp with it. and nothing sounds better then that kenne bell whine..... in my opinion anyways.
