and to answer you about your car running on E85... you wont have to "tweak" your a/f ratio.. you will have to inject roughly 15%-20% more fuel. which will mean a new set of injectors and a full, all out re-tune of your EFI system

still think you know more about E85 ethanol then i do? ask the guys on Turbomustangs.com about it.... better yet, join the mailing list for diy-efi.com

Adder- no one claimed anyone knew more than anyone. That's where I got my info too, bud.

And it would be nice knowing that I don't have to go back in the fuel tank if I do want to run E85.

And Tmajikman- I haven't checked anything. I have no experience at all with my fuel system and here's a good place to start. What should I check to narrow it down to my fuel pump?

pump bearings can wear down over time, as well as the pump sometimes not spinning. Also the impeller blade can wear from particles passing through and eroding them.
Ty thats good to know. Since my f150 and stang are basicly my first electric fuel pump cars. ( Always had old cars. Except for a 91 camaro witch lasted 2 weeks. I killed the 700r in it. And a 93 eclipse 1.8L bought it to take my caprice off the road for a bit. Slow as hell but great gas mileage.

First thing is replace your fuel filter, second is to check the connector where the fuel pump goes into the tank, make sure you have good power, and a good ground, make sure the the inertia switch behind the drivers side tail light is reset. Check your fuel pump relay as well.

Fuel filter is relatively new, I just replaced it about 4 months ago.

Where is the relay and how do you check it? The inertia switch is obviously not tripped b/c the car will start and run fine (very LOUD pump tho, louder than normal).

The relay, I believe is under the passenger seat, you will have different leads on the relay that will have power to them depending on if the car is running or not.... You might want to rent a fuel pressure guage from auto zone or some type of store around you and see what you fuelpressure reads, and see if the pressure falls also.

Sounds exactly like when my fuel pump went out. Three times. Here's a tip, never buy no-name fuel pumps (NAPA, Checkers, etc), they die almost immediately in hot weather (could go get my car and drive it home at night though). The one I currently have I think is an AutoZone, which much to my surprise has lasted like 3 years no problem, but still it's not worth it to buy cheap brand fuel pumps.
