and a mild cam (0.560 lift/exhaust).
What's an aggressive cam then!?
I know I shouldn't say it on this forum, but I'm from a chevy background ..so i guess a mild cam for the GM small blocks are a .560... I'm used to reading up on .590 - .610 cams as aggressive...

im from both backgrounds and in a small block a .560 cam is huge unless you are talking a roller with no duration.. i have a .540 hydraulic flat tappet in my motor and it is very radical for street use.

You might want to read up on Speed Density and make sure you know what type air meter it has. Good luck on the buy.

If the stang is in speed density I'll love it even more!!
I own a 2002 Trailblazer (which runs in Speed Density) with custom headers, exhaust, intake and tuning... Speed density to me is ALOT more easier to tune then MAF related engines...

With that in mind, any idea on how to tune these cars? I mean they are almost 20years old, and im thinking the "chip" idea might be going back to work? I have an LM1 WB 02, so I'm thinking maybe adjusting the fuel regulator to get thing in shape?
FINALLY! im not the only one on here that doesnt think sd is the antichrist.... n e sd questions... let me know, lol.

hell my .500 lift cam lopes like a **** dragster - but the 300 duration and 12:1 compression may have something to do with that[8D]

alright alright, ill say that a mild cam will be around .510 lift! no need to start anything here... but plz note that most MILD cams in GM units are in between .540 - .560 anything above that is going wild....i guess it is do to with CR ratings their engines normally being higher then the stangs...

So lets say with full bolt ons and a nice cam package (rollers, springs, etc) how much WHP would i be seeing? i'd be happy with ending up with ~350whp and ~390wtq.. does it sound realistic?

No. With a set of nice aluminum heads, cam, intake mani, and all the supporting mods you'd probably be doing ~300ish rwhp and maybe a little more torque than that. Remember that 302s have 48 less cubes than the most popular GM small block .

If you buy a throw together package like TF's you will be lucky to see 300rwhp. If you piece it together yourself w/ a GOOD setup, you should see over 300... just too much though. 350 is pushing it

Ok well this is my project plan for now...

BBK UD pulleys
BBK CAI
BBK SSI with 70mm TB
BBK Fuel regulator
BBK long tube headers
BBK X-pipe
Magnaflow or Borla Cat-Back
Ford Racing 1.7 roller rockers
Comp Cam duel springs
Comp Cams custom grind (will need to do some research into, keeping in mind this will be a fun car not daily driver)
42# Ford racing Fuel injectors
Will mill the heads to get a higher compression whenI install the cam.
Some forged pistons to get me some more compression
And in tiiime (once I save up for find a good deal) some heads.

These are the engine mods only. I'll be happy to invest around $3000 to reach 300-350whp/wtq ..

BBK just seems like quality products, not over priced and seem to deliver what they promise.. How good/bad of a direction would you say this is? I did not get a chance to look at the stang today, but I know it's later then an '88 model

You'd never hit that with stock heads (naturally aspirated, boosted hell yeah). The E7s can be pretty nice if ported correctly, but just milling them won't get you there. If you're willing to spend $3,000 just buy a Paxton Novi 2000 kit, that'll get you your 350rwhp without any trouble, but add in supporting mods and the price will jack up.
