I am removing the EGR system on my 86 GT. I have the egr simulator on the way and I have the vacuum line plugged off. Next i am going to make a plate out of aluminum to block off the hole on the egr spacer. correct??? Anything else i need to do?

Looks like you have it covered. Just plug up all the holes and either use a chip to turn the EGR off or use the simulator you already ordered

Or make your own using three resistors

Chances are, if people are modding a 5.0L V8 engine, they really don't care about gas mileage. I just recently removed my EGR and I'm not seeing any huge difference in mileage. Would have been too much hassle to extend and reconnect it to make it longer so removing it was the easiest option.

I didn't notice any mileage loss. The one thing you may consider is nextime you have your intake off is to plug the EGR port in the lower to keep the hot exhaust gas out of the intake. I just made my own simulator, cost me $4 and works perfectly, no codes.

Where is the EGR port on the lower intake? Are you talking about the PCV? Where do you get resistors for making your own simulator?

Plug the port inside thwe intake from the head..you can only see it if you take your intake off. It is the round hole in the middle of the lower, that you can only see if you take off the upper.

I got the resisters off ebay and used this picture to make it
