question about injectors.

these questions have problably been beaten to death but i would like to clarify some specific things that i couldnt find on forum search.

first i understand the concept that the air/fuel ratio in the cylinders must remain constant and that bigger injectors doesnt necessarily mean more power.

second, i understand that 19lb stock injectors can handle up to about 300 HP before needing the 24lb/hr's. I want the 24's because i will be doing future mods.

Question is: if i get the 24 lbs injectors with the 24lb calibrated MAF sensor, will the injectors not function properly because i am not producing the minimum power requirement needed for accurate usage of those injectors?

i just want to make sure that the 24 lb injectors after installed will not sound any different, use more gas, and run rich, basically the car should run just like it does now with the 19lbers. i expect them to run no different than the stock ones because the same amount of fuel is being pumped into the cylinders but with just shorter intervals of 'squirts' due to the larger injector.

i just wanted to clarify this, please tell me what the real world result would be if i have these mods.

full exhaust - long tubes, off road Hpipe, catback.
CAI
Pulleys
MSD 6AL
Blaster
MSD wires
Kirban regulator
70mm TB + spacer
smog offline

thanks for any help.

RE: question about injectors.

really upgrating to larger injectors isnt needed anytime soon. wait to you really need them then worry about stepping up. just cause you do cam, intake and heads dont necessiary mean you need 24s.

RE: question about injectors.

ok in that case i have a question about MAF sensors. I am going to spend about 200 bucks on a MAF sensor calibrated for 19lb injectors. what if later on i buy 24 lb injectors, do i have to spend another 200 or can i just buy like the upper black spout connector and keep the MAF tube. i just dont want to waste money.

send it out to get recalibrated or sell it and buy another one

Those 24lb's will be fine. You wont get into any unwanted surging until you really oversize them. My car came from SVT with 24Lb injectors and everything is fine and dandy. IMO I would go ahead and do it. As long as everything is calibrated, everything should run fine. It would be different if you were thinking about 30, or 36#'ers. Then you would run into some trouble. But with the 24s you wont have any problems.

but your not pushing 300hp, you should spend that money on some other mods.... maybe some suspension mods or something, from the list of mods on your website you might need bigger injectors once you do the cam and heads, you pretty much got the bolt ons down tho, i'd just buy a 19lb maf.... but thats just my opinion

RE: question about injectors.

that is the stupidest thing ive ever heard. the 93 cobra has #24 injectors, 94-95 cobras have #24 injectors and the 96-98 cobras all have the #24 injectors but none of those cars are close to pushing 300hp. the 96-98 cobras are the closest but at the most there at 270 to the wheels but the 93-95's are pushing no where near 300hp. now ive heard people say that #19 are good for 300hp on this forum b4 but i never asked y. so now im asking, if #19 are good for up to 300hp, y do they have em on all the earlier model cobras when none of them make 300hp
